Good morning March! Today is the first day of March and I can't wait to see what wacky adventures March has for me. If today is any precursor then March is going to be a good month.
I woke up obnoxiously early this morning. I didn't know what to do with myself so I just googled some random stuff. I came across all 6 seasons of Captain Planet! I used to love that cartoon. I watched a few episodes from the first season before I fell back to sleep. I didn't realize how corny that show was.
After waking up from a Captain Planet inflicted coma I realized I missed a call from my facebook wife Erin. She called to let me know of a free beer tasting going on at Independence Brewery here in Austin, Tx. Since Texas independence day is coming up next week the brewery opened its doors for free tours and beer. Erin and some mutual friends were going so I decided to hook up with them while I waited for my twin to come in town. It was a very beautiful day and the brewery has a band set up outside. It was nice to just hang out with friends and enjoy some brewsky.
I came home to await the arrival of my twin. Little did I know that I would be waiting a while. So while I was waiting I popped in the DVD player "Meet The Robinsons". I am a big Disney fan and hadn't seen it yet. It was a really cute movie. I even found myself laughing a few times. I am just a big kid at heart. I thought it had a good message about not dwelling in the past. I even shed a single tear at the end of the movie. It made me really think about my own life. I can either sit here and be Debbie Downer about all the interviews that didn't pan out or I can keep my head up high and await my future with open arms. I think I am going to go with choice 2. "Meet the Robinsons" ended with a quote from Walt Disney himself that I would like to share:
“Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things… and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.”
