Thursday-Don't Push My Buttons

Today was a great day to sub. I was in a second grade class at the school where I did my student teaching. The teacher I was subbing for had a student teacher who did everything. All I did was grade papers and help with writing. I didn't mind it today because I was going to get to observe this student teacher. What's so special about this student teacher you might ask? Well he is male! They are very rare to find. I was glad to see how he would interact with the kids. We got to chat it up through out the day. He is from New York and you can tell by the way he pronounces some things, like Colton and button. Man was he strict with those kids. He let nothing slide. It was funny because when he would get on to them not only would he talk in third person but he would also say, "You don't want to push my buttons today". I found it amusing. He did a terrific job and the kids really responded to him. He wasn't afraid to joke around with the kids and lay down the law when it was time to work. I definitely could take a page or two from his notebook. I talked about him with some of the other teachers on the team and they said it was a tough class so they had to be strict with them. Then about the talking in the third person, they think he got it from his cooperating teacher because she does the same.

After a fairly easy day I stopped by Office Max to pick up some Resume paper for an upcoming job fair. That crap is expensive! But you do what it takes to get a job. There so happened to be a Shoe Pavilion next to the Office Max so I decided to take a peak inside. That was a bad choice on my part. I left the store with some really cool boots on sale, but still pricey. It has been a while since I bought something nice for myself so I thought I deserved it.

After a few hours of buyer's remorse it was time for me to get ready for my friend John's birthday get together. He is a pretty chill guy and is not into drinking so it was a pretty calm evening. We went to Hut's on 6th and then to our friend Erin's apartment to play trivia games. I am sad to say I didn't win the trivia games but I did come in a close second. I will just have to do some brushing up on knowing useless facts. I think I can do that.
