Saturday- Resume, Rinse, and Repeat

The job fair was this morning! Talk about a stressful event. You are basically herded into this high school gym where all the elementary schools in RRISD had a booth. There had to be at least 500 or more people there going to the 35 booths. Needless to say it was hard to make a connection with anyone. I handed them my resume and had about a minute to impress then and tell them why they needed me. I had a lot of pluses, but being straight out of college with no experience was holding me back. If only they could see me in action, then they would be coming to me and telling me why they needed me. But that is not the case. I had a resume and cover letter for each school. In four hours I was only able to hit up 21 of the 35 schools. After school 6 I had a memorized script that I was telling them. Hopefully I impressed someone.

After feeling exhausted and a little cotton mouthed I went to have lunch with a few friends who were all at the job fair. We talked about the job fair over chips and queso. We shared our feelings of dis heartedness we felt. There was just not enough time and too much competition. Not matter how optimistic we tried to be you could still see it in our faces how disappointed we were. None of us got interviews and we tried to figure out what we were doing wrong. We all came up with blanks. We all felt down and headed our separate ways to go take a nap since the job fair was so early in the morning.

After a depression induced coma I woke up and got ready to go out. I was meeting some friends that I hadn't seen in awhile and of course my fellow bloggers, Katie and Jackie. The drinks were just what I needed after a stressful day. I met Katie and Jackie at Wave before going to Spill. Spill is the name of a club and also what Jackie did with her drink all over my feet.lol It was a good night.
