So Wednesday was the last day at Spicewood for many people. My friend Shea's long term sub job ended and it was the new batch of interns last day was well. I decided to be nice and take Shea some flowers. They were just one of a few bouquets that she received that day. In addition to flowers it seemed there was a plethora of cupcakes as well. In every corner I turned someone was offering me a cupcake. But I was strong. I had only 2 cupcakes, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
I was in a class that I had subbed for before. They are a really bright group but I established an atmosphere early on with them that was humor rich and rather lax. So needless to say it was cray cray. Going from fun to fun with rules is a lot harder than it sounds. I just had to put my foot down. That's when I know I am becoming a better teacher. When I am no longer worried about being there best friend instead of an authority figure. I mean it is important for your kids to like you but you have to put learning first.
After school Shea and I went to have dinner. She needed to kill some time and I had nothing else to do. We went to Chili's and gabbed about life and our pending unemployment status. Since I had 2 cupcakes I decided to order a salad. I must say that it was the best salad that I have ever had in my life. I always enjoying sitting and chatting with a friend one on one.
